| So, I am responding to the act of being tagged. Below are the only ten things that make me happy. Yep, exactly ten.
1. mutual security 2. instruments with 4 to 12 strings on them 3. the Twins winning 4. getting emails 5. making plans 6. the act of wandering 7. when people appreciate what i do 8. finding money i didn't know i had 9. singing a song with a room full of people singing along 10. that coy smile accompanied by angel eyes
| Nothing makes you feel as invincible as screaming loud music at passing cars in slow highway traffic at night. I could do that my whole life and be satisfied.
These are the simple things in life that get me by. That and having big dreams. I know they'll be never be realized, but that's not the point. Sometimes pipe dreams are the most important kind. They're refreshing. A new hope.
And everyone loves posting song lyrics these days, check out Neutral Milk Hotel, it's like PCP for your ears:
When you were young you were the king of carrot flowers And how you built a tower tumbling through the trees In holy rattlesnakes that fell all around your feet And your mom would stick a fork right into daddy's shoulder And your dad would throw the garbage all across the floor As we would lay and learn what each other's bodies were for And this is the room one afternoon I knew I could love you And from above you how I sank into your soul Into that secret place where no one dares to go And your mom would sink until she was no longer speaking And dad would dream of all the different ways to die Each one a little more than he could dare to try
GOD DAMN! Jeff Tweedy covered this song. Now that would have been a sight to see...or hear...
| Ok, so this is for real now. You know what I don't like? Going swimming with my daycare. It's mega lame. In fact, I don't like doing many things with the daycare. The kids are mega annoying and actually quite rude. I shudder to think that I indeed was one of them at one point in my life. It's sad, because, well, I like kids, but after spending 4 years working at a daycare, I really can't stand the little buggers. Oh sure, there are cute little angelic ones, but they're all outweighed by the whiney brats. It's a living though. I need to turn in my application for on-campus employment. I think I might end up with a job working at one of the local elementary schools, due to the fact that I have daycare experience and am an English major and want to work in a library. At least they'll be new kids.
So the Watery Graves are for real. We won the battle, and have two new members in my sister Hannah and good friend Austin Weir-Soderburg. We're totally gonna make some rockin' tee-shirts. You will all be amazed. We have two shows coming up: August 6 at the TC Underground during Greta Herman's fashion show!!!! and then the 28th as part of the Lake Street Festival.
That was a whole lot of update.
| I'm only updating because Celia REALLY told me to. Like, a lot. | | |
| It's time for something new to be put up here, simply because I don't like looking at that picture every time I log in. So, there's a great concert this Saturday at the TC Underground on Lake Street. Yep, the Watery Graves will folk you up. Talk to me if you want to know details. I just finished completing Celia's birthday present, and boy do I feel special. Making things is fun. Right now, on my right index finger, I have a huge blister. It's funny because it looks like a heart. Wow, you could make a bright eyes song about that. Oh I kid. I think we all agree that love is best expressed by the things that look like <3.
Not creative enough to put another number in place, jordan!
